OUR VISION IS THE ELIMINATION OF VETERAN HOMELESSNESS IN THE NORTH TEXAS COMMUNITIES THAT WE SERVE

OUR MISSION IS TO TREAT EACH VETERAN WITH RESPECT AND COMPASSION, IN GRATITUDE FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY

Base Camp Lindsey is proud to serve the Veterans of the United States Military.  Our Veterans willingly put their lives on the line to defend this nation and what it stands for, protecting homes and families of people they would never know.  Too many of them have come home carrying the results of war with them, whether it be physical or mental, the burden is heavy.  Our Veterans are struggling with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, depression, and the results of physical injuries that make it difficult to find and maintain employment.  PTSD, mental health, and chronic pain have led to the use of substances in an attempt to maintain a normal life.  Those substances have instead destroyed homes, relationships, careers, and lives.  Twenty-two Veterans per day commit suicide as a result of these struggles.

Base Camp Lindsey makes the commitment to our Veterans that we will walk beside you as you rebuild your life, one step at a time.  Once operational, the program will provide housing for each Veteran who enters the program.  Our case managers will assist each Veteran in obtaining the benefits that they have earned, accessing medical and dental care, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and finding employment.  Once our Veterans who have completed their personalized care plan and achieved stability, we will help them transition to permanent housing and regain their independence.

For Assistance

WHAT  CAN WE DO NOW ?

Until the doors of Base Camp Lindsey open, we cannot provide shelter or housing, unfortunately.  We do not provide direct financial assistance since all of our funding is dedicated to opening the doors of Base Camp Lindsey.  What we can do is provide a Veteran with one-on-one assistance in navigating the VA benefits services.  We can help you find and apply for locally available housing opportunities.  Our Street Team volunteers will connect you with local resources and community partners to meet your current needs for medical, mental health, and substance abuse treatment.  We also have a food pantry and clothing pantry to meet immediate needs.  We partner with Work Services Corporation and Texas Workforce for employment opportunities.  We can assist with obtaining bus passes, obtaining birth certificates and ID's, as well as options for clothing and tools needed for employment.  We can also serve as your mailing address for any VA or benefits documentation that requires a mailing address.

The programs of Base Camp Lindsey are meant to be transitional, meaning we are here to help our Veterans move from a place of lack, to a place of enough.  To go from weak to strong, from helpless to independence.  Our programs require that our Veterans be ready and participate in that change, we're not going to help anyone stay in the situation they are currently in!  We are here to encourage, empower, and support you, we are not here to enable you to continue doing what is destroying you.
